COLORADO NOW WANTS TO LEGALIZE PROSTITUTION
As of February 11, 2026, Colorado Senate Bill 26-097, "Decriminalize Adult Commercial Sexual Activity," was assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is now in the early stages of the 2026 legislative session. The bill aims to decriminalize consensual commercial sex work among adults, repealing laws against prostitution and solicitation.

The bill proposes to eliminate criminal penalties for prostitution, patronizing a prostitute and keeping a place of prostitution. It would prevent local and home-rule city, town and county ordinances that currently prohibit these activities. Laws regarding human trafficking, coercion, pimping, and activities involving minors would remain in effect.
The Democratic Party that controls the government in Colorado is at it again. It wasn’t enough that they declared (but denied) that Colorado was a sanctuary for illegal immigrants; denied that we had a gang problem with Tren de Aragua immigrants; tried to keep Pres. Trump off the ballot; spent $498-$653 million in 2025 for illegal immigrants; refused to work with ICE to get rid of criminals and sex traffickers, but now want to legalize prostitution. THEY’RE CRAZY!!!
I love how they want us to think it is just a commercial business. Really!! Do you want to see a red neon sign saying “Girls” next to your King Sooper store? Or maybe just down the street from your local high school? Or maybe across the street from your home with lights flashing and music blaring late into the night? Or even more realistic, how about adjacent to a large truck stop with a convenient restaurant and fast-food place.
Then, of course, they have to make it mandatory in every city, town, subdivision, and county whether the citizens of that area want it or not! That’s what Democrats call freedom!.
This is simply encroachment upon local government. “Law enforcement agencies understand communities face different realities. What may appear manageable in one jurisdiction can create significant public-safety and quality-of-life complications in another. Local leaders must retain authority to respond to organized crime, neighborhood impacts, and community concerns” explained Sheriff Joseph Roybal of El Paso County.
Sheriff Roybal goes on to say, “Although the bill applies only to “consenting adults,” history shows coercion, fraud, addiction, and economic pressure are often present, making true consent difficult to determine. Removing critical investigative tools risks increasing exploitation while reducing opportunities to identify and assist victims.”

We are already concerned regarding the sex trafficking of children in our country. Making prostitution legal will make it more difficult to identify trafficking of children. When men and women are just commodities, objects bought and sold, we have fallen down a dark hole of abuse, addiction, debt, homelessness and psychological impairment.
When you legalize prostitution there will be more prostitution and as demand increases so does drug use, criminal activity, exploitation and violence. When all this perversion increases the value of life diminishes which leads to abortions, addictions and suicide.
I know there are some men and women who make a living selling their bodies. They protest for their right to do so. I firmly believe these lost souls do not know they are loved. Many have been abused from childhood and need intervention. Christian organizations should provide assistance, but making prostitution legal only opens the door to a life of regret and misery.
As Sheriff Roybal said “With more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, concern for the future of Colorado grows daily—for the future our children and grandchildren will inherit. A legislature focused on protecting criminals while limiting law enforcement’s ability to safeguard the most vulnerable moves the state in the wrong direction, both morally and statutorily. Legalizing prostitution fails to support a safe and prosperous future for Colorado and its children.”
PLEASE contact your local legislators and insist they oppose SB 26-097, Decriminalize Adult Commercial Sexual Activity. Humans are not for sale in Colorado. This state should reject the bill and pursue policies reinforcing public safety, accountability, and human dignity.

Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.]
